Satan Strikes at the Heel
Words and Music by Jim Papanek (ASCAP)
© 2010 Jesus Inspired Music
The serpent came to deceive both Adam and Eve
He questioned God's command
If they eat from the tree Then they could see
This is what Satan planned
They trusted the lies and it opened their eyes
Knowing evil from good
On the rules they had trod They then hid from God
Feeling ashamed as they should
Satan strikes at the heel The stain we would feel
because sin entered that day
When Christ rose from the dead He bruised Satan's head
and washed all our sins away
So God punished the snake for his mistake
On his belly he'd crawl
As for Adam and Eve God made them leave
Banished from their first home
Satan strikes at the heel The stain we would feel
because sin entered that day
When Christ rose from the dead He bruised Satan's head
and washed all our sins away
In Adam we fell But Jesus lifted us up
He died on the cross so we can live
We've all disobeyed But Christ never strayed
We're dead to sin and alive in Him
Satan strikes at the heel The stain we would feel
because sin entered that day
When Christ rose from the dead He bruised Satan's head
and washed all our sins away
He washed all our sins away
